Job Title: HDR Technical Program Manager
Shift: Day Shift, Monday-Friday
 
 
Summary/Objective: The role functions as the liaison between the customer and internal teams across the organization, to optimize the customer experience while strategically putting Samtec in a position to effectively execute on large scale, customer driven platforms.  This person is responsible for owning the program from early customer engagement to implementation, ensuring a successful program launch aligning with Samtec’s commitments.   
 
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for managing multiple Mega Programs that contain High Speed and/or Advanced products where program value is greater than $10 million in revenue, while developing and maintaining an overall schedule for key deliverables.
  • Create and drive cross functional collaboration throughout the organization (Sales, Engineering, and Operations) to develop program strategy and evaluate near term goals, risks, and priorities.
  • Support sales team at the customer level through owning communication on technical information (including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing).  In many instances, TPM will conduct customer messaging and work with customers to negotiate changes in product or scope.
  • Engage within the organization and support highly visible line down situations, major external quality issues, new complex products, aggressive ramps, and large-scale customer escalations.
  • Gain high-level understanding of manufacturing and material strategy/capacity to support adjacent groups to ensure program success.
  • Track and monitor open issues within a program, while working closely with NPD project management to ensure corrective actions a being implemented at the respective project level.
  • Provide status reports and updates to senior-level internal stakeholders.
  • Develop risk assessment protocols, contingency plans, and promote proactive problem resolution.
  • Willing to travel to support customer level bring-ups or escalations, if needed.

Preferred Experience:
  • 5+ Years’ Experience in engineering and/or operations field.
  • Prior experience managing or leading teams. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a creative mindset.
  • Strong skillset in planning and execution on highly visible projects.
  • Comfortable taking the initiative on exploring process optimization efforts.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with cross functional groups across global sites.
  • Experience and proficiency in Samtec systems – CM, SFC, MRP, Item Master, Power BI, Print View, SolidWorks.
  • Experience in data analysis – Minitab, JMP, or software/tools with statistical analysis capability.
Preferred Education: 
  • B.S. or B.A. in Engineering (Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, etc.) preferred.
    • Technical engineering or manufacturing experience can substitute for preferred education.
 
Training Required: On the job training as appropriate.
